Project Description
We are in the process of acquiring land just outside Lagos, Nigeria to start our first Algae farm. The farm will feature raceway ponds to grow algae in a controlled environment. Algae is a well-known secret super plant in combating climate change.
It only needs water, sunlight and CO2 to grow. It grows very quickly and absorbs a lot of CO2. 1KG of Algae absorbs roughly 2.7KG CO2.
On our 1 acre site, we will be able to produce roughly 14’500 Kg of algae, which results in 40’000Kg CO2 removed from the atmosphere. The good news doesn’t stop there. The algae farm will produce countless of jobs and algae itself can be used for a variety of things:
- Food with a very high protein content
- Plastics
- BioFuel
