What is Carbon Capture?
Carbon Capture simply put, is taking CO2 out of the atmosphere. Industrial processes release a lot of CO2 which cause Climate Change. We here at Swinova want to do the opposite. Turning CO2 in something useful.. Oxigen.
There are different ways to capture CO2. Some are technical solution. Where huge industrial installation capture CO2 and turn it into tiny rocks that get buried in the ground.
Here at Swinova, we do it with the help of Nature.
Nature already does a lot of CO2 capture. Plants need CO2 to grow. Through photosynthesis they turn CO2 into Oxigen.
Swinova wants to leverage natural photosynthesis in three major ways, protecting forest, replanting trees and building algae farms
Nigeria has a tropical climate and is home to dense rainforest that supports more than 1,000 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.
From 2010 to 2019, Nigeria lost 86,700 hectares of tropical forest, releasing the equivalent of 19.6 MtCO2.
We want to stop the destruction of tropical forests in Nigeria and bring them back.Sign up
Compared to trees, algea looks like a superhero. It needs less water and can capture much, much more CO2. It doesn’t even need soil and grows in days.
It’s long been a secret weapon against Climate Change.
